With Aquila's superiorNylgut strings having taken the ukulele world by storm, their highlyregarded brand has now gone one better with their new innovative 'RedSeries' range.
Until now, it has alwaysbeen necessary to increase a string's gauge to reach lower frequencies, however an increase in string diameter also has the disadvantage ofincreasing internal dampening resulting in a less responsive, dullersound. Using their unrivalled techniques in string manufacture, Aquilahave conquered this age old problem by adding fine layers of copperpowder to their already superior Nylgut strings, increasing theirdensity without adding to their gauge.
With amazing results,Aquila's Red Series strings now achieve a brighter, more powerful soundwhilst being much more responsive across the entire range of thefretboard. Red series also offer better intonation than traditionalstrings due to the fact they are thinner and do not have to be frettedas hard as traditional wound strings, which are also prone tooxidisation.
With their unique lookand revolutionary approach, Aquila have risen to the challenge andproduced another excellent string set which resolves the age oldproblem of 'density versus string gauge' and come up with fantasticresults.

Please Note - As New Nylgut mimics the properties of gut,Aquila strings can be liable to damage from imperfections or cuttingedges. To avoid any issues, Aquila strongly advise that beforestringing your instrument, users ensure the nut and bridge are freefrom sharp edges and that nut grooves are not too deep and perfectlysmooth.
This can be quickly and easily achieved using very fine grit sandpaper(600, for example) or the finest steelwool (000).
