Excellent guitar and not just for metal
By: John Holgate on 17 February 2023I was actually shopping for a sustaniac equipped Schecter and thought I'd give this one a go as I hadn't played the Fishman Fluence active pickups. At first I was wowed by the neck - slim and slick - extremely easy to play. Smooth and dense ebony fingerboard with highly polished ss frets made for the best neck I've played in 45 years. Then there was the sound - a rich thick tone (particularly from the neck pick up) that did not show any signs of getting thin as you worked your way up the neck. Loads of sustain too. Body is comfortable to sit with, the satin finish doesn't get tacky/sticky like a gloss finish can. Machine heads are a smooth as silk. This would be nice for jazz/blues type tones too, not just metal. Best guitar I've ever played, though watch out for the edges of the locking nut - they are sharp enough to hurt (I've filed mine down a little). Shape is a bit weird - it won't fit into a std strat type case nor will it sit in a std type guitar stand. Video review here: https://youtu.be/LXr4-zztWsE It was also really well setup from the factory. A really worthwhile step up from something like the Omen Extreme..
