Seymour Duncan SH-4 + SH-1n Humbucker Pickup Set Gold Covers
JB SH-4 - For nearly four decades, the legendary JB Model has been the ultimate hot-rodded humbucker. A truly modern classic.
Designed in the early 70s, the JB Model humbucker is Duncan's most popular pickup of all time. It adds juice and versatility to the bridge position of any humbucker equipped guitar. With its hot coils, and alnico 5 bar magnet, this pickup delivers an unmistakable upper midrange attack, a tight, articulate low end, and harmonically rich highs that can really sing. The JB is the perfect bridge pickup for anything from blues & country to the meanest hard rock & metal. Hand built in the Santa Barbara, CA factory, these humbuckers use an alnico 5 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.
59 Neck SH-1N - The 59 Model neck pickup is a warm, versatile humbucker with a big PAF sound that is great for playing both big, rich chords and fat sounding leads.
While these vintage style coils give the 59 neck pickup an airy quality that keeps it planted firmly in the PAF family, the alnico 5 bar magnet, and vacuum wax potting have been added to accommodate lighter guitar strings and louder amplifiers than were ever used in the 50s. The result is a pickup with tons of old-school tonal character, but with a brighter top end, scooped mids, and a more compressed sound. Pair with the 59 bridge model for a traditional balance and sound. In addition to the alnico 5 magnet and wax potting, we hand build the 59 Model with a variety of traditional vintage treatments, such as 42AWG plain enamel mag wire, long legged nickel silver bottom plate, vintage single conductor braided push back lead wire, and no logo. As with all of our PAF style pickups, the 59 Model is wound on Seymours old Leesona winder from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, MI.
The Seymour Duncan SH-2N Jazz Model Pickup is suitable for musicians who need an accurate, clear tone for fast jazz runs. The brighter sound has slightly less output and is a good match with most pickups. A popular combination is The Jazz Model in the neck with either a JB (SH-4) or Duncan Custom (SH-5) in the bridge.
Application
Classic moderate output humbucker. Especially popular in neck position. Don't let the name fool you; it's not only great for jazz, but also country, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock.
Description
Provides an articulate and clear tone. Great for fast runs. The brighter tone has slightly less output and is a good match with most bridge pickups. When distorted, the tone is full and bright. Smooth sustain. Compared to the SH-1 '59 Model, the Jazz has slightly less output and a more detailed treble response. Comes with four-conductor hookup cable.
Complete setup
Available in both neck and bridge models. Often a Jazz neck is paired with an SH-4 JB (Seymour's favorite combination) or SH-5 Duncan Custom in the bridge position for diverse tones.
Guitars
For balanced and warm instruments. Works especially well with mahogany bodies and rosewood fingerboards. Also works great with hollow and semi-hollow body guitars.
