The SH-55, a co-production of Seymour and humbucker inventor Seth Lover. The original P.A.F. modeled precisely from 1955, has plastic bobbins, enameled wire, Alnico II bar magnet, wooden spacer, black paper tape, and a base plate made of silver nickel instead of the usual brass, since with the latter the sound robs too much natural highs. Also, this pickup was manufactured to the authentic original designs and sounds, not waxed. In sonic terms, it is reminiscent of a vintage PAF. The neck pickup gives even the coldest guitar warmth.
