A fine french master violin made by Didier Nicolas Ainé circa 1820.
 
Top is made of two parts of a beautiful spruce, and shows regular grain lines.
Back is made of a very nice piece of flamed maple, the curl ascending from the left to the right.
Ribs, neck and Scroll are of the same wood, and original.
Varnish, of a brown colour, is original and in a perfect condition.
Purfling is neatly inlaid and ends with "rounded" bee stings, the head is a French wonder, elegant and characterful, having inherited from the French 18th century tradition.
Excellent condition, with just a repair at the left f hole.
Entirely revised and set-up, including new tailpiece, chinrest, endpin, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant strings. 
Pegs are 19th century and work perfectly.
Inside back can be found the original label, "A la Ville de Cremonne Didier Nicolas Ainé", including "DNA4" in a circle.
