A fine french master violin made by Didier Nicolas Ainé circa 1820.
• Top is made of two parts of a beautiful spruce, and shows regular grain lines.
• Back is made of a very nice piece of flamed maple, the curl ascending from the left to the right.
• Ribs, neck and Scroll are of the same wood, and original.
• Varnish, of a brown colour, is original and in a perfect condition.
• Purfling is neatly inlaid and ends with "rounded" bee stings, the head is a French wonder, elegant and characterful, having inherited from the French 18th century tradition.
• Excellent condition, with just a repair at the left f hole.
• Entirely revised and set-up, including new tailpiece, chinrest, endpin, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant strings.
• Pegs are 19th century and work perfectly.
• Inside back can be found the original label, "A la Ville de Cremonne Didier Nicolas Ainé", including "DNA4" in a circle.
