Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi 2 Dual Op-Amp Nano Fuzz Pedal
Resurrected Classic Circuit Meets Modern Nano Design
The Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi 2 (BMP2) is a unique fuzz pedal resurrected from a never-released late 70’s dual op-amp design by Bob Myer. Decoded and refined with help from EHX disciples Josh Scott (JHS Pedals) and Daniel Danger, the BMP2 brings a fresh edge to the legendary Big Muff sound.
With singing sustain, massive gain, a crispy top end, booming lows, and slightly less refined clipping, the BMP2 adds a dynamic and slightly fuzzier take on the classic Big Muff tone. Perfect for any Muff lover looking to expand their fuzz palette.
Classic Controls in a Compact Pedal
The BMP2 retains the familiar Volume, Tone, and Sustain controls:
- SUSTAIN — Adjust from medium grit to full fuzz fury
- TONE — Shape your sound from brash rasp to deep thunder
- VOL — Set overall output
The pedal is housed in a nano-sized die-cast chassis with artwork by EHX aficionado Daniel Danger, combining classic aesthetic with modern pedalboard convenience.
Advanced Footswitch Options
The Big Muff Pi 2 introduces a first for any Big Muff: silent true bypass with latching/momentary footswitch action. Click for normal latching operation, or press and hold for a momentary burst of fuzz mayhem — ideal for experimental or live performance use.

What makes the Big Muff Pi 2 different from the classic Big Muff Pi?
The BMP2 uses a unique dual op-amp circuit design that creates a slightly more dynamic and fuzzier tone, while retaining the classic Big Muff characteristics of sustain, gain, and harmonic richness.
Can I use the momentary footswitch for live performance effects?
Yes! The BMP2 footswitch supports latching for normal operation and momentary for short bursts of fuzz, ideal for dynamic or experimental live playing.
Does the Nano-sized chassis affect tone?
No. Despite its compact size, the BMP2 maintains the same rich Big Muff tone and full-frequency response you expect from EHX pedals.
What power options are available?
The pedal runs on a 9V battery (included) or an optional AC adapter.
