Fine old Maggini Model 4/4 Violin Unlabeled late 1800's - Setup ready to play


Violin looks to be a well made violin from the late 1800's - No Label

This is a fine violin, built on the Maggini model, and finely carved.
Top is  Fine even grain spruce,straight and even across the table. A fine choice of wood. There is a repaired crack, running from the botoom to treble f hole. ( Not Sound Post Crack ) 
No other cracks or damages, though has scratches and dings.
Top is finely carved with good graduation.
Double row of Purfling in the Maggini style.
The back, is 2 piece Higly flamed maple, a fine choice of wood,ascending to the middle Joint.
Back is in very good condition and varnish is good original condition.Has the normal scratches and dings, which one must expect. Double row of Purfling finely inlaide, culminating in fine bee stings.No Cracks
Scroll carved with a good deep throat, with an extra turn. Pegs fit and work fine. 

 

Violin has been set up, new French Deluxe Aubert Bridge, Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Strings, new soundpost. Pegs work pefectly,

good all round violin that will benifit from some regular playing.
