Loud and Distinctive Tone

Rather than utilising a wooden soundboard like a standard ukulele, resonator ukuleles utilise spun aluminum cones to produce their tone. Originally designed to be louder than conventional instruments, these ukuleles eliminate the possibility of being overwhelmed during a performance. They also produce a distinctive tonal quality that's ideal for bluegrass and country genres. Although resonator ukuleles resemble lap steel guitars, these ukes are typically played in a conventional manner, rather than in a flat or bottleneck style.
