The Schatten BM-1 PRO pickup was designed with a longer sensor element to enable it work properly on the bridges of Bouzoukis, Mandolas, Flat-top Mandolins and Citterns that traditionally have a wider string spacing format than a standard mandolin. This model of the BM-1 pickup includes an external mount jack assembly with an integrated volume control.

The BM-1 series of pickups allows you to add a pickup system to your instrument without having to change the bridge or make any modifications. The MVC jack assembly simply attaches to the underside of the existing tailpiece. The BM-1 pickup system offers a real alternative to pickups that would normally require bridge replacement.

The Schatten BM-1 pickup provides clean, clear sound reproduction. This pickup has sufficient output to drive most amplifiers directly without a need for a preamp. If you are plugging into a mixer or PA system you may require a preamp to increase the signal strength to match that system. We recommend the Schatten Mini-Pre preamp for this pickup system.
