This flute is 'closed hole' which is the most popular at an advanced level - closed hole is where you press the keys/pads to cover a hole and the other type which is not very popular at this level is 'open hole' where you have holes in each of the keys and you use a combination of your fingers and the keys/pads to cover the holes. Other features include a E mechanism to produce a cleaner and more responsive top E, over-cutting/undercutting of the embouchure hole to provide less whisper tones, a clear focus on the blowing edge and a broader sound, and a heavy-weighted engraved crown which adds mass to the end of the flute to provide greater performance and a broader colour range. To top everything off the Cantabile flute comes in a French style case with a fleecy lined case cover (with a carry handle and shoulder strap), white gauze cloth, microfiber cleaning cloth and an owner guide.
