Vater American Hickory
Hickory is the most popular wood used to make drumsticks. Hickory is more dense, heavier and harder than Maple. Hickory can absorb a lot of the vibration and thereby reduce the fatigue of the hands and wrists. "Dark" Hickory (or "Brown" Hickory), comes from the center of the tree and is somewhat more dense and heavier than "White" Hickory.
